Our partner: Mashatu Game Reserve
Mashatu is the epitome of all that defines wilderness areas in Africa.
A hidden gem situated in Botswana, Mashatu Game Reserve consists of 42,000 hectares of privately owned land in the conserved wilderness area known as the Northern Tuli Game Reserve (the largest privately owned game reserve in Botswana).
The reserve lies in the remote eastern corner of Botswana where the great Limpopo and Shashe Rivers converge, and where the three countries of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe come together.
This exceptionally diverse landscape includes wide open plains, grassland, riverine forests, rocky hills, marshland and majestic sandstone ridges. Celebrated for its expansive landscapes, biodiversity, and commitment to low-impact tourism.

What is the philosophy behind Mashatu Game Reserve?
Mashatu's philosophy is rooted in preservation, purpose, and people. As custodians of a significant tract of wilderness in Botswana, the reserve seeks to protect its diverse ecosystems while ensuring that its operations directly benefit both wildlife and surrounding communities.
Mashatu believes that sustainable and conscious tourism is the key to conservation. Every guest's stay includes a conservation levy that supports environmental initiatives, local staff healthcare, and community development. The reserve also collaborates with researchers and NGOs to monitor and safeguard species, including elephants and big cats.
Equally, Mashatu is committed to cultivating deep and authentic experiences for guests. Whether through a game drive led by passionate guides or quiet reflection in nature, the aim is to foster a reverence for the natural world.
Above all, Mashatu’s philosophy champions harmony between luxurious and adventurous safari experiences and conservation and community upliftment.
