A hidden gem situated in Botswana, Mashatu Game Reserve consists of 42,000 hectares of privately owned land in the conserved wilderness area known as the Northern Tuli Game Reserve (the largest privately owned game reserve in Botswana).

The reserve lies in the remote eastern corner of Botswana where the great Limpopo and Shashe Rivers converge, and where the three countries of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe come together.

This exceptionally diverse landscape includes wide open plains, grassland, riverine forests, rocky hills, marshland and majestic sandstone ridges. Celebrated for its expansive landscapes, biodiversity, and commitment to low-impact tourism.

Known as the “Land of the Giants,” Mashatu takes its name from the local Mashatu tree. These magnificent dark green trees, which are found along the rivers in the reserve, provide refuge, shade and food to many of the local wildlife. Mashatu is home to the largest population of elephant herds on a private game reserve in Southern Africa, and is renowned for incredible cat and predator sightings and prolific birdlife with over 350 species.

• Mashatu Lodge: A family-friendly camp with 14 luxury suites, two pools, an on-site spa, Discovery Room, and traditional dining experiences.
• Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu: Botswana’s oldest safari lodge, with 8 luxury tented suites set on the banks of the Limpopo River with a hide, pool, and stargazing deck.
• Mashatu Tent Camp: An intimate, immersive lodge offering the classic tented safari experience with a pool, hide and waterhole viewing.
• Shalimpo Safari Home: A self-catering exclusive-use home, perched on a hill at the confluence - ideal for nature lovers seeking solitude and sweeping views.

Each stay is all-inclusive (apart from Shalimpo) and includes daily morning and afternoon game drives. Five of six camps are ‘green camps’ using solar energy.
