Treescape Planet Organization is committed to fostering environmental conservation and community empowerment through afforestation, agroforestry, and reforestation initiatives. Their mission is to restore degraded ecosystems, protect endangered tree species, and promote climate resilience by actively engaging communities, schools, and farmers in sustainable land-use practices.
Their long-term vision is to create a world where every individual plays an active role in environmental stewardship, ensuring that forests and biodiversity thrive for generations to come. They strive to build a sustainable and green Uganda by integrating conservation efforts with community-driven economic empowerment. Through education, advocacy, and action-oriented programs, they envision a future where reforestation and sustainable land management become the norm, contributing to global climate solutions.
Treescape believes that nature and people must coexist in harmony. By investing in local communities and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, they aim to make conservation a shared duty that benefits both people and the planet.

What kind of programmes does Treescape offer?
Treescape Planet Organization runs several impactful programs focused on environmental conservation, community empowerment, and sustainability. Their core initiatives include:
#1 Agroforestry and sustainable land management
They work with farmers and local communities to promote agroforestry—a system that integrates trees with crops and livestock. This approach enhances soil fertility, improves biodiversity, and boosts food security while providing sustainable livelihoods. They train farmers on climate-smart agriculture, organic farming, and indigenous tree conservation to ensure long-term sustainability.
#2 Sports sustainability initiative
Treescape believes in the power of sports to drive environmental action and social change. Through the program, they partner with sports clubs, federations, and female athletes to promote sustainability in the sports industry. They encourage clubs to integrate tree planting into their community outreach, adopt eco-friendly stadium practices, and engage fans in climate action. By working with sports federations, they advocate for greener policies in professional sports. Women in sports play a crucial role as catalysts for change, inspiring youth and communities to embrace sustainable practices. This initiative strengthens the link between sports and conservation, leveraging the universal appeal of sports to amplify climate awareness.
#3 Eco-Tourism and conservation education
Treescape is developing eco-tourism initiatives that allow travelers and volunteers to participate in conservation work while experiencing Uganda’s natural beauty. Visitors can engage in tree planting, wildlife monitoring, and cultural exchange programs with local communities. By promoting responsible tourism, they generate income for conservation projects while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
#4 Sustainable livelihoods & climate resilience
Treescape integrates conservation with economic empowerment by training communities in climate-smart agriculture, sustainable forestry, and eco-enterprises. This helps local populations adapt to climate change while improving their incomes, reducing dependence on unsustainable practices, and fostering long-term resilience.
#5 Environmental education & advocacy
Through workshops, school programs, and policy engagements, Treescape raises awareness about conservation, climate change, and sustainable land use. The goal is to foster a new generation of environmental stewards by equipping young people and local leaders with the knowledge and skills to champion sustainability in their communities.
»Now is the time to reconnect, to take care of each other, by taking care of nature.«
What key achievements has Treescape made so far?
By 2024, Treescape Planet Organization has planted over 6,820 trees, directly impacting the lives of more than 23,550 individuals across 16 communities through their conservation and empowerment initiatives. The approach is rooted in the integration of environmental conservation with community empowerment, making a lasting difference in both ecological and socio-economic terms.
Our work is guided by two core program areas:
- Environmental civic awareness: Treescape focuses on educating and inspiring communities to take proactive roles in protecting and restoring the environment. This includes organizing tree planting activities, providing training on sustainable land management, and raising awareness about the importance of conserving endangered tree species and ecosystems.
- Economic empowerment and sustainability: Their programs aim to provide sustainable livelihoods while fostering resilience through community-based solutions. By promoting agroforestry practices, they enable farmers to diversify their incomes, improve soil health, and strengthen their resilience to climate-related challenges.
Notable achievements:
- Planted over 3,000 trees through the Greening Nakaseke Project, engaging schools, farmers, and local communities in afforestation and agroforestry efforts.
- Established partnerships with schools and local organizations to integrate environmental education into curricula, fostering a new generation of conservationists.
- Protected endangered tree species by establishing tree nurseries and promoting the conservation of species like Prunus africana and Podocarpus latifolius.
- Trained over 500 farmers in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable land management, enhancing food security and resilience against climate change.
- Raised awareness on environmental issues through advocacy campaigns, workshops, and social media engagement, influencing local conservation policies.
Treescape’s efforts contribute to global climate action by restoring degraded landscapes, promoting biodiversity, and strengthening local livelihoods through sustainable practices.

Ensuring sustainability and ethical practices
Treescape ensures sustainability by integrating conservation with community livelihoods. Their projects prioritize tree species that support biodiversity, provide ecosystem services, and offer economic benefits to communities. They promote agroforestry, ensuring that tree planting enhances food security and livelihoods.
Ethical practices are at the core of their operations. Treescape engages local communities in decision-making, ensuring that conservation efforts align with their needs and cultural practices. Transparency and accountability guide their work, and they follow strict guidelines on responsible land use and resource management.
To minimize their environmental footprint, they focus on native and endangered tree species, avoid monoculture plantations, and advocate for sustainable land-use policies. The education programs equip farmers, schools, and youth with skills in organic farming, waste management, and alternative energy solutions.
By fostering a deep connection between people and nature, Treescape ensures that sustainability is not just a practice but a way of life for the communities they serve.
How do you engage with local communities?
Treescape Planet Organization actively engages local communities by involving them in every stage of their projects—from planning to execution. They work with schools, farmers, and community leaders to promote conservation awareness and sustainable practices.
One of their success stories is the Greening Nakaseke Project, where they empower schoolchildren and farmers to plant trees, learn about conservation, and integrate agroforestry into their daily lives. As a result, several schools have started their own tree nurseries, ensuring a continuous supply of seedlings for future reforestation efforts.
They also conduct workshops on sustainable farming and forest conservation, ensuring that local farmers have the knowledge and tools to manage their land sustainably. By integrating environmental conservation with economic empowerment, they create long-term community ownership of their initiatives.
Through these efforts, Treescape has built strong relationships with the communities they serve, fostering a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and resilience against climate change.

What are the main challenges?
Like many conservation organizations, Treescape faces several challenges, including:
- Limited funding: Expanding the tree planting and community programs requires financial support to procure seedlings, provide training, and sustain operations.
- Deforestation pressures: Illegal logging and land conversion for agriculture threaten conservation efforts, requiring stronger advocacy and enforcement of environmental policies.
- Climate change impacts: Unpredictable weather patterns affect tree growth and survival rates, making it crucial to implement adaptive conservation strategies.
- Community participation: While many communities are eager to participate, some lack the resources or knowledge to engage effectively in sustainable land management.
Supporters can help by donating, volunteering, advocating for stronger conservation policies, or connecting them with potential funding and partnership opportunities. Every contribution helps us overcome these challenges and strengthen their impact.
What sets Treescape apart?
Treescape Planet stands out for its holistic approach to conservation—blending environmental restoration with education, economic empowerment, and community-led initiatives.
Unlike many tree-planting programs that focus only on numbers, they prioritize long-term ecosystem restoration and community ownership of conservation efforts.
- Focus on endangered species: They protect and restore tree species that are at risk of extinction, ensuring biodiversity conservation.
- Education-driven impact: They integrate environmental education into schools and farmer training programs to create lasting change.
- Community-centered approach: They don’t just plant trees— they work with local communities to ensure sustainable management and economic benefits.
- Global-local connection: Their work aligns with global climate goals while remaining deeply rooted in the needs of Ugandan communities.
Success stories or memorable experiences?
At Treescape Planet Organization, they believe that small actions can lead to big changes. One of their proudest moments came from their work with students at Gombe Secondary School, where they introduced sustainability workshops as part of their Environmental Education & Advocacy program.
