Arrival and orientation in North America

First, you need to book a flight to Vancouver International Airport. After your arrival, you will spend the following night in a local hotel or hostel.

The next morning, an express shuttle will take you from Vancouver to your base station: a Western ranch a few hours north of Vancouver, nestled in the untouched wilderness of southwest British Columbia.

After lunch at the ranch, you will be introduced to outdoor and adventure tourism, and you will receive your horse—your companion for the upcoming days.

»British Columbia is one of the most natural and unspoiled provinces in Canada.«

Accommodation and board

During the course, you will stay on a horse and guest ranch surrounded by the wild nature of southwest British Columbia. You will sleep in tents on the ranch grounds and receive three meals each day.

After a few days, you will depart for the wilderness, sleeping in various wilderness camps that may include large canvas tents or rustic mountain huts. You and your group will carry all necessary food items and prepare them either in one of the camps or on the way.

Leisure time as a horseback guide student

As the focus of this course is on your advanced horseback guide training, leisure time is relatively limited.

However, you can typically use the evening hours for personal activities: there is a ranch library available, and you can relax in the garden's deck chairs.
